About Property Experience

Founded by Alan and Carol James, Property Experience is an established real estate company based in Estepona on the Costa del Sol, specialising in quality property for sale in Estepona and the surrounding areas.

When Alan and Carol first arrived on the coast in the early 1970s, the Costa del Sol was very different from the thriving international destination it is today. At that time, there were only a handful of international companies operating in the area, Puerto Banús was just beginning to emerge, and San Pedro Alcántara was still a small fishing village.

They quickly fell in love with the stretch of coastline now known as the New Golden Mile in Estepona, located approximately 7 kilometres west of Puerto Banús, and became instrumental in helping to shape the area into one of the Costa del Sol’s most desirable residential and holiday destinations.

Over the years, Property Experience played a significant role in the development of a wide range of quality properties designed for both international buyers and investors seeking villas, apartments, and townhouses in Estepona and Marbella. Their philosophy focused on providing attractive, well-built homes at affordable prices, including beachside apartments and charming pueblo-style townhouse developments.

Alan and Carol were also responsible for the management and marketing of an extensive portfolio of properties and commercial premises within the newly developed areas of Benamara and El Paraíso, including apartments, villas, retail units, restaurants, bars, and sporting facilities including building the first footbridge across the coast road in 1970s.

One of the company’s earliest and most successful developments was Benamara Pueblo, a beautiful beachside resort consisting of 100 apartments and villas. The project quickly attracted buyers from the UK and Belgium who recognised the area as an appealing alternative to central Marbella. Other landmark developments associated with Alan and Carol’s vision include Benamara Gardens, Jazmín Villas, Bena Vista Bowls Club, Bena Vista Tennis Club, and El Paraíso Golf Club.

Today, Property Experience forms part of The Experience Group, a diverse organisation offering a wide range of property-related and lifestyle services on the Costa del Sol.   These include property management, rentals (long and short term), a busy construction division for reforms and small works and the electronics division offering services from internet and TV installations, white goods, air con and solar panels to name just a few, all designed to help residents and homeowners enjoy a relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle.

With Carol passing away in 2024, Alan semi-retired in 2025 leaving the companies to be run by his daughters Allyson and Daniella.  Allyson heads up the Real Estate Division and Daniella the Electronics Division – still all in the family. We are proud to have played a part in the pioneering growth and development of this important area of the Costa del Sol, and we warmly welcome you to become part of The Experience Group family.
